Straight Answer First

There is no office in South Pasadena.

I want to say that before anything else, because listing a city you do not have a room in is a small lie that a lot of therapy websites tell. My one office is at 65 N Raymond Ave in Pasadena. From South Pasadena that is a genuinely short drive, which is why so many of my in-person clients live down here.

If the drive is not the part you want, secure video across California is available for every kind of work I do, including EMDR.

Who I See From Here

A Small Town Inside a Big County

South Pasadena is compact enough that people run into each other, which cuts both ways. The community is real, and so is the feeling that everyone has an opinion about how your family is doing. A lot of what comes into session from here has that shape.

  • Parents who have made the school calendar the organizing principle of their entire nervous system.
  • Women diagnosed with ADHD in their thirties or forties, after their kid got assessed and the paperwork read like a biography.
  • People who left a relationship that rewrote their sense of what happened, and want their own version back.
  • Couples-adjacent individual work: you are the one in the chair, but the relationship is the topic.

Teens

The kid who is fine, allegedly.

I work with teens as well as adults, and South Pasadena sends me a particular version: high-achieving, well-liked, quietly running on fumes, and deeply uninterested in being made into a project. That is a workable starting point. It is honest, at least.

Parents get looped in the way the situation calls for, and the teen gets told up front what is shared and what is not. Nobody does well in a room where the rules are vague.

I do not treat severe mental illness or psychotic disorders, and if that is the need I will help you find someone who does.

Getting Started

Individual therapy and EMDR are $225 per 50 minutes. EMDR intensives are $2,300, which covers a 60-minute intake plus three 3-hour sessions. I am out of network and can provide superbills. First step is a free 10-minute call.

More about the room and the parking situation is on the Pasadena office page, and the specifics of EMDR are worth reading before the call.
