Online Therapy Across California
Secure video sessions from wherever you actually are, with the same depth of work as the room in Pasadena.
Book a free consultHow It Works
Same hour, same work, no parking.
You get a link. You click it at your appointment time. That is the technology portion of this page. Sessions run 50 minutes on a secure, encrypted platform, and the fee is the same as in person: $225 per session.
Plenty of my clients mix the two. In the room when the week allows it, on video when it does not. Nobody has to pick a lane at the start, and switching is not a setback.
Who It Suits
If any of this is your life
- You have a commute that turns a 50-minute session into a three-hour errand.
- Your schedule moves. A lunch hour with a door that closes is workable. A drive across town is not.
- You have kids, or a caregiving situation, and leaving the house is the whole obstacle.
- Chronic illness, pain or fatigue makes travel expensive in a way that has nothing to do with money.
- You live somewhere in California without a therapist who does the specific work you are looking for.
- You simply do better talking from your own room, in your own chair, with your own dog nearby.
EMDR on Video
Yes, it works. Here is why.
The most common question I get about video is whether EMDR still does anything without me sitting three feet away moving a hand. It does. Bilateral stimulation can be done on screen, with audio tones through your headphones, or with self-administered tapping that you control.
Reprocessing runs on your attention and your nervous system, not on the room. What matters far more than the format is preparation, pacing and having somewhere safe to land afterward, and I will not skip any of that because we are on video.
One honest caveat: if you are in an environment where you cannot get real privacy, or where a hard session would put you at risk, we talk about that before starting rather than after.
What You Need
A Short List
- A private spot
- A room with a door, a parked car, a corner of the house when nobody else is home. It does not have to be nice, it has to be yours.
- Headphones
- They keep your side private and make the audio far easier on both of us.
- A stable connection
- Wired or strong Wi-Fi. Video hiccups are survivable, but fewer of them helps the work.
- A California location
- I am licensed in California only, so you need to be physically in the state during session.
- Ten spare minutes
- Five before to arrive, five after to land. Sessions back-to-back with a meeting are rough.
If you would rather be in the room, the office is at 65 N Raymond Ave in Pasadena. See the office page or the areas I serve on Where I Work.
