No room in Glendale. Video, or Pasadena in person.
Glendale clients meet with me by secure video. In-person sessions happen at my Pasadena office. I see individuals, not couples, which is worth knowing before you book if what you want is the two of you on a sofa together.
The Local Shape of It
Proximity, families, and the person who never quite leaves.
Glendale is a city where people stay near the people they grew up with. That closeness is a genuine gift and it also means the relationship that hurt you may live fifteen minutes away, attend the same gatherings, and be discussed at dinner by relatives who love you and want everyone to get along.
Add an industry where your ex, your former roommate and your old boss all know the same forty people, and cutting contact stops being a clean decision and starts being a series of small negotiations about who is going to be at the thing on Saturday.
- You keep the peace at family events and pay for it for three days afterward.
- You can spot the pattern clearly in hindsight and never once while it is happening.
- Somebody who hurt you is still socially adjacent, so you never got to finish reacting.
- You describe your standards as high and your actual boundaries as negotiable.
The Work
Patterns are learned, which is the good news.
We look at what your nervous system learned to expect from closeness, usually long before the relationship you are currently upset about. Then we work on the felt sense of it, not just the analysis, because insight alone has never once stopped anyone from answering that text.
EMDR is often part of this when specific moments still land in the body. So is attachment-focused work and, when it fits, parts work. I will not tell you whether to stay or go. That is yours.
