No Glendale Office

Saying the honest part first.

I do not rent a room in Glendale. Nobody is waiting for you on Brand Boulevard with a clipboard. Glendale clients meet with me by secure video, and if you want a chair in a physical room, the in-person option is my Pasadena office, which is close enough that people drive it on a lunch break more often than you would guess.

That is the whole arrangement. I would rather tell you now than have you discover it on a booking page.

Why Video Suits This Work Here

Reprocessing needs rhythm, and Glendale schedules fight rhythm.

A large slice of this city works in animation, post houses, VFX and the studios stacked along the 134. Those jobs run in bursts. You are underwater for eleven weeks, then abruptly free, then underwater again on a different show with a different vendor and a different set of hours.

EMDR does not need drama, but it does need to keep happening. Video removes the commute from the equation, which turns out to be the difference between a person who keeps their slot through a crunch and a person who quietly disappears in week three and returns eight months later.

The Protocol

What happens on the screen.

  • Bilateral stimulation over video usually means following a moving point on your screen, or tapping alternately on your own knees. It travels better than people expect.
  • We build stabilization first. You get grounding and resourcing skills before we go near the material that made you look this up.
  • You are not required to tell the story in detail. You notice, you report briefly, we keep going.
  • Every session gets a deliberate close, so you can log back into a review call afterward without feeling scraped raw.

A Note on Home Setups

Where people actually take these sessions.

Glendale housing is a mix of apartments near the Americana, older bungalows in the north, and family houses where three generations share a kitchen. Privacy is a real logistics question, not a small one. Clients take sessions in parked cars, in a spare room with a white noise machine outside the door, and once, memorably, in a very tidy garage.

If you cannot find a private hour, say so on the consult call. We solve it before we start rather than pretending it will sort itself out.

Practical Details

Fees, license, and how to begin.

EMDR is $225 for 50 minutes, the same rate as individual therapy. Intensives are $2,300 and cover a 60-minute intake plus three 3-hour sessions, which some freelancers prefer to line up during a gap between jobs. I am out of network and provide superbills. There is no published sliding scale.

I am Alexa Aversano, LMFT, California license 140766, and I work only with people located in California. I do not treat severe mental illness or psychotic disorders. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
