No Burbank office. Video, or in person in Pasadena.
Burbank clients work with me by secure video, and my only physical room is in Pasadena. I see individuals rather than couples, so this is your side of the story and what it costs you, not a mediated conversation between two people.
Why This Town Complicates It
Intensity, proximity, and reputations that travel.
Production makes relationships fast and hot. You spend eighty hours a week with people, form something enormous, and then the job ends and it turns out the intensity was mostly circumstance. Repeat that a dozen times and your sense of what closeness is supposed to feel like gets calibrated to conditions that do not exist in ordinary life.
There is also the fear of being difficult. In a town where your next job comes from someone remembering you fondly, naming bad behavior can feel like a career risk, so people swallow it and then wonder why they cannot say no anywhere else either.
- Calm relationships read as boring, and chaotic ones read as chemistry.
- You are excellent at accommodating and cannot name what you actually want.
- You went straight from one thing into the next and never processed either.
- You worry that having a boundary makes you hard to work with.
The Work
Recalibrating what safety feels like.
We trace where the template came from, which is rarely the most recent relationship, and then work on it at the level of body and reflex rather than argument. EMDR is often useful for the specific scenes that still spike you. Attachment work handles the rest, including the deeply annoying stage where steadiness feels unfamiliar and your system tries to interpret it as absence.
I will not tell you to leave anyone. I will help you find out what you actually think, which is usually the part that has been missing.
